Your data, respected.
This page is maintained by the Existensia team to explain how we handle the data you share with us. It is not a certification or a legal contract. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@existensia.app.
What we store
- Account: email, and optionally your name and avatar if you sign in with Google.
- Your answers: responses to any module questionnaires you complete (e.g. Where to live, Career).
- Your results: AI-generated recommendations tied to your answers so you don't have to regenerate them each visit.
- What you publish: posts (including drafts and planned posts), photos and videos, My Journey images and stories, votes, outcomes and comments.
- Social graph: who you follow, your friends and pending requests, blocks and reports.
- Messages: your one-to-one and group conversations, kept so the history is there next time you open them.
- Meet & Town: your date of birth (to keep 16–17 year olds and adults apart), your conduct acknowledgement, your character colour, the place you are in while you are in it, and your private connect / skip choices.
- AI discovery details: your description plus optional gender, age range, city and industry. These are used for matching and are never displayed to other members.
- Tokens & affiliate: your token transactions, referral code usage and milestone progress, plus promotion campaigns you run.
- Technical: minimal records needed to run the service — last-seen timestamps for the online dot, and counts of which items were shown to you so we don't repeat them.
- Guest mode: if you haven't signed in, your answers live only in your browser's local storage. They move into your account the first time you sign in.
Where it's stored
Existensia runs on Lovable Cloud, which uses Supabase (managed Postgres) as its backend. Every table that stores user data is protected by row-level security — each account can only read and modify its own rows. Passwords are never stored in plain text; they are hashed by the auth provider.
Who can see what
Existensia has a light social layer (Shared thoughts, public profiles at /u/username). Here's exactly what each audience sees:
Public viewers (signed out)
- • Only profiles you set to public: username, display name, avatar, bio, theme and My Journey images with their stories.
- • Your shared thoughts and their vote totals, if you allow it in your history visibility setting.
- • Nothing else — no email, no answers, no results, no messages, no follow list.
Other signed-in users
- • Same as public viewers — public profiles and posts only.
- • Follow counts on a profile (totals only, not the list of names).
- • Whether they follow you or you follow them — never anyone else's follow relationships.
- • Whether you're online right now, if you have a public profile.
- • Posts you limited to followers or friends, only if they are in that circle.
Only you
- • Your email, questionnaire answers, results, saved items, traits, and notifications.
- • Your drafts and planned posts, until you publish them.
- • Your AI discovery details: description, gender, age range, city, industry.
- • Your date of birth, token balance, transactions and affiliate progress.
- • Your Meet choices — who you connected with or skipped, unless the interest is mutual.
- • Your profile if you keep it private.
You can switch your profile between public and private anytime from Profile → Settings.
Messages
One-to-one and group conversations are stored so your history is there when you return. They are readable only by the people in the conversation. "Delete for me" hides a conversation on your side; it does not remove it for the other person. If you leave a conversation you started in Town, its messages are deleted. We do not read your messages except when they are reported to us for moderation.
Meet & Town
Your date of birth is stored to keep 16–17 year olds and adults in separate discovery pools — it is never shown to other members, only your age or age range where relevant. Your presence in a place is visible to others only while you are there, and disappears when you leave or sign out. Connect and skip choices stay private: the other person is told only when the interest is mutual. We do not collect GPS location; any city or place is what you typed yourself.
Promoted content
If someone promotes a profile or post, we record that it was shown and whether it was engaged with, so we can report totals and avoid repeating it. Promoters only ever see aggregate numbers — never who saw or tapped their campaign. Promotion respects your privacy, blocking and audience settings, and no data is sent to any advertising network.
Third parties we rely on
- Google Sign-In — only if you choose to sign in with Google. We receive your email, name, and avatar.
- Google AI (Gemini) — when you generate recommendations, your questionnaire answers are sent to Google's AI API to produce the explanation. No account identifiers are shared.
- Coaching requests — when you tap "Message a coach", your request stays inside Existensia and is only readable by the coach assigned to you. No third-party booking service is used.
- Email delivery — our email provider sends account, onboarding and notification emails from notify.existensia.app. It receives your email address and the message content, nothing more.
- Apple & Google app stores — if you install the mobile app, the store handles the download and gives us anonymous install and crash statistics. It does not get your Existensia content.
The mobile apps
The iOS and Android apps are the same Existensia, in a native shell. They store your session on the device, use the camera or photo library only when you pick a photo or video, and do not read your contacts, calendar or location. Deleting the app does not delete your account — use "Delete my account" for that.
Cookies & tracking
We use a single authentication cookie (or local-storage token) to keep you signed in, plus a little local storage for interface preferences — your theme, and how many times you have seen an Existensia update. We do not run third-party advertising, analytics, or fingerprinting scripts.
Child safety reports
Existensia has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). When someone reports a post or a member for CSAE, the content is hidden immediately and the reported account is locked while a human reviews it. We keep the report, the reported content and the related account records for as long as needed to complete that review and to meet our legal obligations — including cooperating with law enforcement and child-protection authorities where required. These records are handled only by the safety team and are never used for any other purpose. Report from any profile or post, or email safety@existensia.app.
Your rights (GDPR / RGPD)
If you're in the EU/EEA, GDPR gives you the right to:
- • Access a copy of your data
- • Correct anything that's wrong
- • Ask us to delete your account and data
- • Export your data in a portable format
- • Object to a specific use of your data
To exercise any of these, email hello@existensia.app from the address on your account. We reply within 30 days.
Deleting your data
Sign out at any time from your Profile. To delete your account outright — profile, questionnaire answers, saved recommendations, posts, photos and follows — use Delete my account at the bottom of your Profile. It happens immediately and cannot be undone. If you can't sign in, email hello@existensia.app from the address on your account instead.
